Bronx takes part in history

Bronxites around the borough rallied in support of America's 44th President, as Barack Obama became the nation's first African-American President, as he took the oath of office in Washington, DC., on Tuesday, January 20.
About 100 patrons were invited to a free showing of the historic event by the management of The American Movie Theater in Parkchester. The manager of the theater, Jerry Williams, said of the theater's decision to open its doors at no charge, "It's a way of giving back and giving thanks to the community, I suppose. It's truly history in the making."
