WHEDco hosts FREE workshop to help Bronxites become NYC GREEN CART VENDORs

WHEDco, a Bronx-based nonprofit dedicated to the economic advancement of low-income families, is partnering with Karp Resources to present a free workshop on how to start a business as an NYC Green Cart vendor. Attendees will learn how to apply for a permit, how much money can be earned, and where to access funds to start their Green Carts business. The opportunity is open to any interested resident; no experience required and there is no fee to attend.
This free NYC Green Carts Business Startup Information Session is open to any resident who wants to learn more about how to start their own profitable green cart business. The session is on from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, August 24 at WHEDco’s Intervale Green Office – 1330 Intervale Ave (between Jennings and Freeman streets).
The goal is to help community members start business that enhance the quality of life for South Bronx residents by increas ing healthy food options for residents of Crotona East and Morrisania
There is no experience required and no fee to attend, but you must call to reserve a seat at the workshop. For more information about the Green Carts Program or to RSVP call Cassandra Flechsig at (212) 337-4311.

Mass in memorial of the late Puerto Rican nationalist Lolita Lebron
There will be a Memorial Mass this Sunday to celebrate the life of Puerto Rican Nationalist, LOLITA LEBRON at La Resurrecion (The Resurrection) United Methodist Church, 790 between Elton & Third avenues on E. 158th Street.
The bilingual Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 8th, followed by a fellowship of dialogue and reflection.
